Fabrication

With multiple state of the art manufacturing campuses, the Kaiser Enterprise is proud to be the largest sheet metal fabricator in North America. With our vertically integrated enterprise, we are uniquely equipped to meet a wide variety of fabrication needs and meet aggressive schedules.

Our massive manufacturing footprint, of over 1 million square feet, ensures that each business unit has adequate storage for modules. Each facility is designed to support all of our companies. For instance, at the Kais-AIR® campus, we have the equipment and space to allow UPI to fabricate and assemble their modular chiller plants if they needed to.

Importantly, many of our fabrication locations provide the room to grow. The locations of our facilities are selected to support a wide range of customers and large-scale projects. Beyond fabrication and assembly spaces, we have dedicated storage buildings for large modules to guarantee delivery dates and meet critical project milestones.

Skilled Installation

Our skilled installation team has extensive experience safely installing a variety of equipment. While we offer our own patented technologies, we’re also able to procure and install the preferred equipment of our customers. Our willingness and most importantly, our ability to install equipment outside of our own, is what makes us the partner of choice for many customers.

Procurement & Product Integration

Within the Kaiser Enterprise, we offer extensive procurement services to ensure the successful, cost-efficient and timely construction of each of our customers' projects, regardless of size and scope. We also provide the necessary square footage to safely store components and purchased equipment.

Award-Winning Minority Spend Program

Our enterprise is committed to supporting a diverse supply base and achieving a minimum average diverse spend of 10%. These efforts are what has led to our multiple awards in the MBE category. At the start of the planning process, our team works to identify substantial opportunities for minority subcontractors. Our decades of successful project execution experience allowed us to form partnerships and key relationships with a diverse supply base.

Integrators

As a turn-key integrator of building, process and project delivery, we’re not committed to only our own products or systems. Our team has experience purchasing and installing a variety of equipment depending on our customers requirements.

Subcontractor Partners

We maintain multiple strategic partnerships with equipment and trade organizations. Subcontracting is achieved through joint bid package development, capturing the most comprehensive and competitive pricing for our customers. Equipment purchases are made by our qualified engineering team, adhering to each of our customers’ strict specifications. This three-pronged procurement strategy ensures the highest quality standards are met, however products are procured.

Construction Management

Plan purposely and execute exactly. That’s the singular strategy our highly qualified project managers, schedulers, installation superintendents and experienced support staff operate under every day.

This approach, when coupled with the most modern tools and advanced processes, enables us to effectively eliminate any challenges that might stand between us and the completion of a successful project.

THOUSANDS

We manage thousands of trades personnel on multiple sites simultaneously.

50%

On average, we self-perform 50% of the content within our projects.

100%

We pride ourselves on our ability to manage 100% of our projects.
MODULAR FABRICATION

Part of our success in the construction of our projects is due to our modular build abilities. Utilizing our "smart build" approach we minimize risk, improve safety, quality and schedule.

Together, the Kaiser Enterprise team has the in-house capabilities to fully modular build a number products, including:

  • Air Handling Units
  • Pump Skids
  • Oven Modules
  • Heater Boxes
  • Data Centers
  • Healthcare facilities
  • Power distribution modules
  • Electric Air Handling Units (E-AHU)
  • Air Distribution Plenums
  • Paint Circulation Systems
  • Utility Generation Systems
  • Chiller Plants
  • Abatement Systems
  • Desiccant Dehumidification Units (DHU)

Importantly, we're able to pre-wire, pre-pipe, pre-insulate our products prior to them leaving our facility.

With multiple state-of-the-art manufacturing campuses, we're able to fabricate ahead of schedule and ready to install at the first available time. We consciously created fabrication spaces that eliminates potential collisions or dangerous inefficiencies. Outfitted with automatic back gauges, quick change tooling and lift assist devices, we not only enhance our safety performance, but create an ergonomically-friendly workplace.

Overall Program Management

With decades of experiencing managing highly complex projects, our team is able to overlap process, building and utility efforts in an effectively coordinated program.

WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON NEVER MISSING A LAUNCH DATE IN OUR COMPANY HISTORY.

Commissioning & Launch

Part of our turn-key solutions include our in-house expertise in the commissioning and launch of a project. It’s that expertise that has contributed to our success in never missing a launch date in our company history.

With our significant experience across North America on large-scale projects, we’ve steadily built a team of experts. This team works closely with our customer to ensure a safe turnover.

We have built a robust project closeout process to include verification of scope of work completion, effective commercial resolution of issues with subcontractors, and thorough project documentation and training tools. From a new 1 million square foot green field turn-key paint shop to a modular chiller plant, no project or product is too large or small for this team to complete.

Research & Development

Our dedicated Research & Development (R&D) team utilizes industry-leading technology to design and fabricate the most effective and sustainable products. The department works closely with all facets of the enterprise to identify customer needs and opportunities for new products.

To accelerate our R&D efforts and the creation of new patented products, GK has invested in the tools to simulate process conditions in a virtual environment. Using this approach, we can lower the cost of R&D by allowing us to build virtual prototypes in the early stages of development.

For fabrication and product testing, we maintain a dedicated R&D facility on our Detroit manufacturing campus.
